The Mission

Dr. Kim has been fortunate to have had such varied experiences in medicine, both in the military and working for other dermatology practices over the years. She had vigorously sought a practice that would align with her deep-seated values for what practicing medicine should be; the values that were cemented during her training as the ideals for patient care. Unfortunately, what she encountered was care clouded by business incentives and numbers, both in practices run by private equity firms and larger multi-office practices, losing touch with what she felt the core of the mission should be. Despite feeling nervous about her lack of business acumen, she felt inspired enough to take a leap of faith and create Dr. Kim Dermatology in an effort to create something special and different, hoping her lofty goals are not overly naive and simplistic to exist in today's society, with the faith that patients would be drawn to a type of care that seems to be becoming extinct. She aspires to create a place of healing, comfort, and self-actualization, from the skin inwards, that aims to make the patient aware that they are the center and purpose of its existence. We want patients to look and feel incredible; that they are what matters in this space and that our every goal is to facilitate that. And that hopefully, that impacts their lives in more ways than they had never even imagined.
